Account Director (Maternity Cover)

The Account Director plays a pivotal role within the &Accelerate team, leading client accounts and ensuring their profitability and growth. This involves fostering strong client relationships, directing media strategy and buying across both digital and offline channels, and managing a team of media professionals. The successful candidate will be a highly motivated and experienced media professional with a proven track record of success in client management, strategic planning, and team leadership.


Key Responsibilities

Client Relationship Management:

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned client accounts, building and maintaining strong, trusted relationships with key client stakeholders.
  • Understand client business objectives and marketing challenges, translating them into effective media strategies.
  • Lead client presentations and meetings, effectively communicating strategic recommendations and campaign performance.

Media Strategy & Buying:

  • Oversee the development and execution of integrated media plans across digital and offline channels, ensuring alignment with client objectives and budget parameters.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends, new media opportunities, and emerging technologies.
  • Analyse campaign performance data and provide insightful recommendations for optimization.

Team Management & Development:

  • Manage the workload, performance, and professional development of a team of media professionals.
  • Provide regular coaching, mentoring, and feedback to team members.
  • Conduct performance reviews and identify training needs.
  • Foster a positive and collaborative team environment.

Financial Management:

  • Develop and manage account budgets.
  • Prepare accurate and timely client forecasts and billing


Skills and Experience

  • Proven experience as an Account Director or similar role within a media agency environment.
  • Strong understanding of both digital and offline media channels.
  • Excellent client relationship management skills and the ability to build rapport with senior-level stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to develop and execute effective media strategies that deliver measurable results.
  • Experience managing and developing a team of media professionals.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and effectively within a team environment.
  • Self-starter with a proactive and results-oriented approach.
  • Ability to think innovatively and develop creative media solutions.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and manage multiple clients simultaneously.
  • Experience with specific media planning and buying tools (e.g. Nielsen, YouGov, Prisma).
